Stargate, Locked

Ok, so the new Universe is up and Syfy now has it available online! It seems they are one of the last to jump on board the future of watching full videos on the internet. The only way you could access their shows was through i tunes. Now they have them right on the site! Yeah, Stargate, feed the hunger. It was good to see old faces like Jackson, McNeil, and Carter. I just happened onto the site the other day to check out the new features. Wow, surprise! Happy dance time.
Ok, back to reality. The neighbors go to the local public school. When they got home today, Tori wanted to immediately go over to play. I told her to wait a bit and let them do their homework. That concept was beyond her. Why should they spend all day in school and still have more work when they get home? It was a bit to explain that they went to school and their teachers want them to do some of their work at home. Ah, the simplicity of a four year old. To make matters worse, we did not get started today until about 10 and we finished at 3. This time included lunch, piano lessons for Allyn and music for Morgan. Tori even had her reading lesson, she is doing well with this. She can recognize a few letter sounds and sound out some words. She is having fun learning these. The program emphasizes the sounds not the names of the letters. So far she has learned the r, m, s, a (as in rat), e ( as in eat) and the t sounds. This has helped her immensely. She has started putting the s on the words that need it and started saying her r's correctly. She used to say top for stop or tippy tup for sippy cup or poon for spoon. She is doing so much better. She should be fully reading before she is 5! Yeah homeschool!
Miriam has sat in on a few lessons and copies some of the sounds Tori does. I am not actively trying to teach her. If she picks some things up, more power to her. She is becoming such a little imp. She smacked Tori in the face with a doll this evening. When Tori started crying, she immediately gave her a hug and kiss and said, "isokay" with a smile of knowing that that is what makes all things better. Well, Tori was not happy, still. She ended up with a fat lip. But she was torturing her sister and would not listen to me when I asked her to stop. Sooo... she kinda had it comin. :)
